My wife, a shining star – Jonathan

PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday in Abuja described his wife, Patience, as a shining star in his life.
This came as Patience took a retrospective look at her life, especially in the last few weeks she was believed to have spent in hospital abroad and said whatever might have happened to her was God’s design.
Both spoke at an in-house ceremony held to mark Patience 55th birthday at the Presidential Villa.
In a short remark, the President said his wife was a “shining star” in his life.

He thanked God for granting her good health.
He later presented her with a birthday gift.
Patience, however, told the gathering that comprised her husband, other members of her family, top government officials and some close family friends that, “Whatever might have happened to me was God’s design for my life.”
The President’s wife returned to the country penultimate Wednesday after spending about seven weeks in a foreign country believed to be Germany.
At the birthday ceremony, she thanked God for sparing her life to mark another birthday this year.
She also thanked members of her family and all Nigerians for their prayers.
Highlights of the event comprised a session of thanksgiving prayers and presentation of gifts.
Her last birthday was marked in Perth, Australia where she and her husband were attending the 22nd Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, CHOGM-2011.
Governor Gabriel Suswam of Benue State coordinated the cake-cutting session of the birthday, which was also attended by presidential aides.
