The occupants of a blue Toyota Camry lost their lives
on Wednesday evening after a truck with the
inscription 'Dangote Sugar' lost control and rammed
into their vehicle.
Our correspondent, who visited the scene of the
accident, adjacent the Otedola Jubilee Estate, which
has become a scene of fatal crashes, learnt that after
the incident, the driver of the Dangote truck with
number plate, XA 985 BBR, immediately jumped out
of the vehicle and fled.
Our correspondent observed that the Toyota Camry
with number plate, LSD 716 AE, which was crushed
beyond recognition, was being towed by officials of
the Federal Road Safety Corps to allow for free flow of
traffic.
Policemen attached to Isheri Division were also on
the ground to intervene in the situation.
When contacted, the spokesperson for the state
police command, Ngozi Braide, confirmed the
incident.
She said, "Around 6.30pm, the said truck lost control
and rammed into a Toyota Camry, killing the two
occupants of the vehicle.
"The driver of the truck immediately fled and efforts
are being made to find him."
As at press time, there was still heavy traffic on the
highway.
